Three ways of attending to Haggerston Park

The same park, attended to three different ways.
Everyone follows one shared sequence for this pilot: a short guided attunement, an unguided sensory drift and a Derive-mediated drift. The comparison is reflective, not a score and not a claim that one mode is better.
- 10Welcome, access and consent
Agree the park boundary, return time and equivalent routes. Choose separately what may be captured, shared or published.

Walk together. The facilitator offers a few place facts, then leaves room for the park.
What did another person's framing make visible? - 14Unguided sensory drift
Walk in pairs without a destination. Both people keep their eyes open and choose their own pace.
What pulled you when no voice selected the next thing? - 14Derive-mediated drift
Let sparse audio or haptic prompts interrupt the walk. Stop before touching or looking at the screen.
Where did the device deepen attention, and where did it take attention away? - 5Return and optional listening station
Return to base camp and record one thing, or nothing. Close or soften the eyes for up to sixty seconds while stationary, or keep them open.

Place observations as separate layers. Keep contradictions, absences and withheld material visible.
Access is a route
Walking can include wheeling, pausing, sitting and returning early. Every prompt is optional.

Publication is a choice
Local capture, workshop sharing and public publication are separate decisions. The collective Mapzine keeps disagreements and withheld places visible instead of flattening the group into one route.
Before people arrive
Base camp inside Haggerston Park. Confirm the exact gate after the recce.
- Moving blindfolds are not part of this pilot.
- Stay inside the agreed park zone. Do not use the canal edge or road crossings during timed drifts.
- Return to base camp at the agreed time. The walk can end early without becoming incomplete.
- Complete and record the route recce
- Confirm the meeting gate and weather fallback
- Confirm permission and activity-specific insurance position
- Print the contact sheet and incident log
Prepare the digital drift
Location permission is requested by the drift itself. You can stop, pause or use the stationary alternative at any time.
